Euraxess – from the Commission for scientists
At the conference, Dr. Sohail Luka presented his project Euraxess to support the scientific community of Europe. They try to keep in touch with European scientists abroad, to connect job market places and a lot more. Although its still in the making, it is potentially quite interesting for you. Most of the participants did not know about it, so here is what they claim:
EURAXESS Jobs
is a stress-free recruitment tool free of charge. It contains a wealth of constantly updated information on job vacancies, funding opportunities and fellowships for researchers. As a researcher you can post your CV online. As academic institution, private research organisation or public research body, both within and outside the EU, you can post your vacancies free of charge and search for CVs from international top-notch researchers. Direct access is also provided to the national Jobs portals of the 35 partner countries which contain information on research job opportunities in their countries.
EURAXESS Services
is a network of more than two hundred offices located in 35 European countries. These Centers help researchers and their families plan and organise their move to or stay in a foreign country. This free personalised service will help you tackle issues such as accommodation, visa and work permits, language lessons, schools for your children, social security and medical care. A team of well informed staff is at your service. Find a Services Centre near you and read some of the success stories.
EURAXESS Rights
provides all information regarding the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers. The Charter describes the rights and duties of researchers, as well as research- and funding institutions. The Code aims at ensuring equal treatment of all researchers in Europe and increases transparency in their recruitment. A large number of leading research institutions has undersigned the Code and Charter already: find who they are in the Signatories section.
EURAXESS Links
is a network for European researchers working outside Europe. Here you will find extensive information about research in Europe, European research policies, career opportunities in Europe, international collaboration and trans-national mobility. It also provides interactive web tools promoting networking amongst European researchers living abroad. EURAXESS Links is established in the US and as of June 2008 in China.
